Insulin... Insulin... Insulin...

Well, our trip to the doctor yesterday ended with an RX for 4 injections of insulin a day. I wish I could explain what a giant wuss I am when it comes to needles, but I don't think words can describe the wussiness. So, the thought of having to stick a needle in my stomach was truly terrifying. BUT... they made me do it in the doctors office to show I could do it. And it wasn't so bad there... Once I got home and had to do it was a different story. It took me about 5 minutes to actually muster the courage to stick myself and when I finally did it, I hit a capillary so it burned!!! Not as easy as the dr office.
It is truly not as dramatic as I make it all sound, it's a very small needle, but still!!! Needles!!!

Off to the Endocrinologist...

Well, my blood sugar has officially reached "out of control" status, so much that my OB has had my January 5th appointment with the endocrinologist bumped to this Monday. Everyday my blood sugar is higher and higher no matter my diet. It's kind of getting frustrating and a little scary at the same time. Keep us in mind this weekend and Monday as we find out what the next step is and whether it will involve insulin or not...

Almost 30 weeks...

We had our appointment today. The baby is doing great, but my sugar is not looking very good so we may be taking insulin the last weeks of pregnancy. We go see the Endocrinologist on the 5th and sonogram on the 8th. Then we will have one more sono before the little man is born to check his growth. We have to make sure he is not growing too fast and getting too big!

That sounds so depressing, but it really is.

Gestational Diabetes... again!

Well, it turns out that I do have gestational diabetes again. My blood sugar was right there at the cut off... It had to be below 140 and mine was 140. Ugh. Oh well, this blog is about the baby, not me so I won't dwell on it. I just hope this doesn't mean I am going to have ANOTHER very large baby.

New Doctor Visit

Brandon and I went in for an appointment with the new doctor yesterday and we both really liked her. The office had a great system for checking in and taking patients to their rooms.
She told me she wants to see me every other week from now. I also have to do my blood sugar test and get my flu shot next visit. So far, everything else looks good!

Kicks for Brodie...

This weekend Brandon, my mom and Karsen were all able to feel Baby A move around. So, Brandon and Karsen started saying our baby name top picks into my belly to see which one got the biggest reaction. Brodie got the most movement everytime... I'm still not convinced that's his name... We are probably going to have to wait until we meet him to give him his name... *sigh*

Week 22 apointment

Just an update...
Had my last appointment with my favorite Dr... I have to change dr.'s now because this office does not deliver at Presby Dallas...
Everything looks and sounds good. She said he was moving around a lot and while she was trying to hear the heartbeat which is funny because he has certain times of the day he likes to move and this just happened to be one of them.
I go to the new Dr. on the 6th so I will keep posting!

Well, I did something to totally mess up the last blog so hopefully this one works. Today was the last day for voting and Brodie was in the lead, closely followed by Alexander and then Preston. Thank you all for voting! I will post his name once we finally decide.
